BTS kicks off massive world tour in south korea
K-pop supergroup BTS has officially launched their highly anticipated “Arirang” world tour in Goyang, South Korea. The opening concerts, held at the Goyang Stadium on April 9, 11, and 12, sold out in pre-sale for all three nights, with tickets in South Korea, North America, and Europe selling out within hours of the pre-sale and general sale.
The tour, which marks BTS’ first world tour since 2022, is expected to be a massive success, with analysts estimating total earnings of up to $1.81 billion. The “Arirang” tour will span 81 shows across 34 cities, making it the largest K-pop world tour to date.
The group’s comeback album, “Arirang,” was released in March and topped the Billboard 200 chart for two weeks, a first for a K-pop group or artist. Lead single “Swim” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
BTS’ management agency, BigHit Music, has added new dates to the tour due to overwhelming demand, including shows in Tampa and Stanford. Fans can catch the group’s performances live at PVR INOX cinemas in over 20 Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
