Bengaluru comedian Manjeet Sarkar tours with third special ‘Meanwhile’

Bengaluru: Stand-up comedian Manjeet Sarkar is on tour with his third one-hour special, Meanwhile, bringing a decade of evolved comedic storytelling to audiences across India.

In the new show, Sarkar addresses his younger self directly. “With this special, I tell 15-year-old Manjeet, who was a child labourer, that he has everything he ever wanted,” the Bengaluru-based comic said.

Hailing from Bastar, Chhattisgarh, Sarkar’s voice has shifted over the last 10 years from personal narrative to broader social commentary. His debut special, Let’s Talk About It, released in 2024, traced his origins. The show “ended up being interpreted as Manjeet talking about caste,” he noted. During the international tour for that special, he also produced the award-winning documentary Untouchable: Laughing Out Caste, which further explored themes of identity and social hierarchy.

With Meanwhile, Sarkar continues to blend autobiography with comedy, reflecting on his journey from child labourer in Bastar to one of the country’s touring stand-up voices.
