Assam-born actor’s film screened at mexico international festival

Guwahati: A British-produced and Portuguese-directed film featuring Assam-born writer-actor Rajdeep Choudhury in the lead role was screened at the 41st Guadalajara International Film Festival in Mexico on Friday.

A Teacher’s Gift, directed by Portugal’s Artur Ribeiro, was part of the Premio Maguey section, one of the prominent competitive strands of the festival. Choudhury is both the writer and lead actor of the film.

The Guadalajara International Film Festival, held on April 24, 2026, is regarded as one of the leading cinematic events in Central and Latin America. The screening marks a significant international recognition for Choudhury, who hails from Assam.
