Anthropic nears $1.5 billion AI venture with Blackstone, Goldman Sachs
New York: Anthropic is finalizing a $1.5 billion joint venture with Blackstone, Goldman Sachs, and several other Wall Street firms to sell artificial-intelligence tools to private-equity-backed companies, the Wall Street Journal reported Sunday.
People familiar with the matter said Anthropic, Blackstone, and Hellman & Friedman are anchoring the deal. Each company is expected to invest roughly $300 million. Goldman Sachs is also set to be a founding investor, putting in around $150 million, according to the report.
The venture would mark one of the largest partnerships between a leading AI developer and major financial firms, aiming to bring AI tools directly to companies owned by private equity.
Anthropic, Blackstone, and Goldman Sachs did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
