New Delhi: India’s industrial growth accelerated to a near two-year peak of 7.3% in June 2026, according to official data released on Tuesday.
The growth in the Index of Industrial Production, IIP, was driven by strong performances in manufacturing, electricity, capital goods and consumer-facing sectors.
The June print marks the fastest pace of industrial expansion in 23 months. However, analysts cautioned that the momentum may not sustain. They cited the risk of a lower-than-expected monsoon and continued uncertainty stemming from the war in West Asia as key factors that could weigh on industrial activity in the coming months.
