Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘Khalifa’ to release on August 20 in two parts

Kochi: Prithviraj Sukumaran’s upcoming action thriller Khalifa is set to hit theatres on August 20, 2026. A new poster of the film was unveiled on the actor’s Instagram handle on Monday, July 27. Directed by Vysakh and produced by Jinu V Abraham and Suraj Kumar, the film will release in two parts.

The poster shows the protagonist walking with an entourage with Dubai’s Burj Al Arab in the background. Tagged “Vengeance will be written in gold,” the film casts Prithviraj as Aamir Ali, a gold smuggler. Veteran actor Mohanlal plays a key role as Mambarakkal Ahmed Ali, Aamir’s grandfather. The script has also been penned by Jinu V Abraham.

Khalifa will clash at the box office with Nivin Pauly-starrer Bethlehem Kudumba Unit and Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game, both also scheduled for an August 20 release.
