Assam Forest Department releases booklet on butterflies of Bodoland Region

The Assam Forest Department on Saturday released a special booklet documenting the butterflies found in the forest landscape of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

Hagrama Mohilary, the Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), released the booklet in Kokrajhar. Kokrajhar is located about 220 kilometres west of Guwahati. The BTC administers the Kokrajhar-headquartered BTR, which comprises five districts along the border with Bhutan.

Officials said the booklet aims to create awareness about butterfly diversity in BTR and support conservation efforts in the region.
