‘Manjummel Boys’ director Chidambaram’s next ‘Balan — The Boy’ trailer out

Kochi: The trailer of director Chidambaram’s next film Balan — The Boy has been released. Chidambaram is best known for directing the 2024 survival thriller Manjummel Boys.

The much-anticipated film is scheduled for release on June 19. It will hit theatres in five languages — Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada.

The trailer does not reveal much about the plot. It shows a young boy’s search for his mother. The boy’s mother appears to be shapeshifting and is shown moving around a lot, as if running away from something that seems to have a hold over her.

The film marks Chidambaram’s return after the success of Manjummel Boys. Further details about the cast and storyline are yet to be disclosed by the makers.
