UrsaCompute to invest $300 million in AI infrastructure in India, plans Blackwell GPU deployment
Bengaluru: UrsaCompute, the AI compute infrastructure arm of Ursa Group, has announced a $300 million investment to build sovereign AI compute infrastructure in India. The plan includes deploying 2,888 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs.
The company said the deployment aligns with the Government of India’s ₹10,372 crore IndiaAI Mission, which aims to strengthen domestic AI infrastructure and reduce reliance on overseas hyperscaler ecosystems for advanced AI workloads.
The investment will go toward setting up data centers and GPU clusters to serve enterprises, startups, and research institutions building large-scale AI models in India. UrsaCompute did not disclose timelines or locations for the rollout.
The move adds to a growing list of domestic and global firms committing capital to AI compute capacity in India as demand for training and inference workloads accelerates.
