India, US hold ‘constructive’ trade deal talks in Washington
New Delhi: The negotiating teams of India and the US held “constructive” and “forward-looking” talks on a trade deal, the Indian government said following the conclusion of discussions in Washington. The talks took place from April 20-23, 2026.
India and the US had earlier issued a joint statement on February 7 agreeing on a framework for an Interim Agreement pertaining to reciprocal tariffs and mutually beneficial trade.
The latest round of negotiations signals continued momentum toward finalizing the trade pact, aimed at boosting bilateral commerce and addressing tariff-related issues.
