Disney+ drops trailer for Percy Jackson season 3 ahead of November 20 premiere

Disney+ has released the official trailer for the third season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, ahead of its November 20 premiere.

Starring Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, the upcoming season follows the young demigod as he sets out to rescue Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries), who has been captured by the forces of Kronos. The season will premiere with two episodes, followed by two new episodes each week on Disney+.

Based on The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan’s bestselling series, the new season sees Percy embark on another perilous quest alongside Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri). Their mission involves rescuing Annabeth, freeing a goddess held captive and confronting a prophecy that could lead to the downfall of Olympus. The trailer also teases new allies and enemies as the threat posed by Kronos grows.

The new season introduces several characters from the books, including Nico di Angelo (Levi Chrisopulos), Bianca di Angelo (Olive Abercrombie), the goddess Artemis (Dafne Keen) and her lieutenant Zoe Nightshade (Saara Chaudry). Tamara Smart also returns as Thalia Grace, while Kate McKinnon joins as Aphrodite and Ming-Na Wen appears as Hera. Other newcomers include Hubert Smielecki as Apollo and David Costabile as Dr. Thorn.

The returning cast also includes Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, Daniel Diemer as Tyson and Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue. The series is created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, with Steinberg, Dan Shotz and Craig Silverstein serving as executive producers.

Season 3 marks the first screen adaptation of The Titan’s Curse, which introduces a major prophecy concerning a child of one of the Big Three Greek gods — Zeus, Poseidon or Hades — who will determine the fate of Olympus.
