Samsung launches Galaxy A08 for mid-segment buyers in India

New Delhi: Samsung on Thursday launched the Galaxy A08 in India, targeting mid-segment buyers with a focus on durability, battery life and long-term software support.

The smartphone comes loaded with AI capabilities and promises up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates — one of the longest support windows in its segment.

The Galaxy A08 features a 6.7-inch HD+ PLS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. For durability, Samsung claims a Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front and a Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) back. The device is also IP64 rated for dust and splash resistance.

Powering the phone is a 6,000 mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging, aimed at heavy users.

Samsung said the Galaxy A08 will be available across online and offline channels. The pricing and variant details are expected to be announced by retail partners.

The launch comes as competition intensifies in the sub-Rs 20,000 segment, with brands pushing longer software support and AI features as key differentiators.
