iPhone 18 Pro Max refines last year’s reset with performance and camera gains

New Delhi: If the iPhone 17 Pro was Apple changing what a pro-grade iPhone looked like, the iPhone 18 Pro is Apple making that new design work harder, says a review published on September 26, 2026.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max presents a strong case for the “marginal but meaningful” school of iPhone upgrades, with a new chip, vapour chamber cooling and an upgraded pro camera system standing out as true upgrades.”A better cooling system supports a more efficient chip, which supports longer battery life and more demanding camera and AI features,” the review by John Xavier notes.

Design-wise, the 18 Pro Max looks nearly identical to last year’s pro model except for colour. The review unit comes in a new shade called glacier — described as darker than MacBook Air’s sky blue and lighter than iPhone 16’s ultramarine.

With the iPhone 17 Pro, Apple had made a design reset in its professional-grade variant. Now, under John Ternus, the company is following through with refinements to that design, the review states.
