25% of Indian tech firms move AI from pilot to production

New York City: Nearly 25% of Indian technology services companies have already moved AI experiments into production, and the industry is generating up to $12 billion in AI services revenue, Indian tech leaders said at the Nasscom U.S. CEO Forum held at the Consulate General of India, New York City.

The sector now has more than 2 million professionals skilled in AI, with 100,000 to 200,000 trained in advanced AI capabilities, the leaders noted.

India’s technology services sector will remain central to global enterprise transformation in the Artificial Intelligence era, they observed. Around 85% of technology service providers now have agentic AI platforms in place.

The forum brought together CEOs of top Indian IT firms to assess the industry’s AI readiness and global positioning. The shift from pilots to scaled deployment signals growing enterprise confidence in AI-led delivery models built by Indian providers.
