12-Year-old Macy Johnson hailed as hero for saving brothers from house fire
A 12-year-old girl from Georgia, Macy Johnson, has been praised as a hero for saving her two older brothers from a devastating house fire that destroyed most of their two-story home. The fire broke out in the garage of their home, which the Johnson family of six had moved into just a few months prior.
Macy, who arrived home from school to find the house engulfed in flames, ran to the door and alerted her family, including her brothers who were inside. Her oldest brother, preparing for work, was unaware of the fire until Macy’s screams, while her second-oldest brother was asleep in his room above the garage.
Firefighters from Richmond Hill and Bryan County quickly responded to the scene and managed to contain the fire before it spread further. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
